The duo of Chris Tapp and Brian Mullins joined together in 2010 to, in their own words, “just jam.” Since then, they have recorded multiple albums and gained a great deal of fanfare along the way. A common descriptor of the band is authenticity, as they do not fit into any set genre, and they produce an extraordinary sound for just two people.
The Cold Stares achieve their authentic sound in some part thanks to Chris’ unique guitar rig and Mullin’s giant bass drum. Nashville radio personality Dan Buckley described the band by saying, “The first time I saw them, I thought they had at least two other musicians secretly behind the curtain. There’s just no way that sound comes from the two of them.”
Their new album, Ways, is a collection of 13 songs that no doubt showcases the band’s authentic sound and ever growing songwriting abilities. So, here’s your chance to check out this rising band in action and see first hand where all that sound comes from.
In addition to sharing the evening with The Cold Stares, make plans to attend more of the events from the soon to be released 2020 schedule brought to you by Next Act, Inc. Season tickets, individual membership, and business sponsorship opportunities are also now available for the 2020 season. Information may be found at www.TheNextAct.org.
