Next Act, Inc., will bring the 1960 horror-thriller movie Psycho back to the silver screen on Friday, October 21, and the cult-classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, October 29, at the historic Astra Theatre.

“Adding a movie to our annual Evening of Appetizers event makes this a perfect date night opportunity,” said Ann Recker, president of the Downtown Merchant’s Association, as well as owner of Chocolate Bliss. “Stroll downtown Jasper on a crisp fall evening, visit our wonderful local specialty shops while sampling free appetizers, and cap it off with a seasonally-appropriate movie—this is certain to be a special evening!”

For a limited time, tickets for both shows can be purchased in advance for a discounted total of $10 at www.itickets.com/register/ new/367496?. All net proceeds will benefit Next Act’s effort to restore and rejuvenate the historic Astra Theatre.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is renowned for its audience participation roles at different times and scenes during the film. There will be Astra-appropriate props available at the venue the night of the show for purchase as a $6 kit. To view a list of included items in the kit, as well as what cannot and will not be tolerated for use during the film, visit www.thenextact.org/rocky-horror-kits/. To encourage the safety and enjoyment of the film by all in attendance, any bags brought to the theater could be checked for inappropriate items.
