30th Anniversary Screening of Major League at the historic Astra Theatre on Saturday, April 20

Start this baseball season off right by visiting the historic Astra Theatre to view the classic baseball movie Major League at 7:00pm EST on Saturday, April 20.  Enjoy the 30th anniversary screening of the movie in which the teams’ owner and the players work against one another, rated R.

General admission tickets are on sale now at www.TheNextAct.org for only $8.00. For a limited time, get a $2.00 per ticket discount by using code “baseball” at checkout. Next Act has reached out directly via email to both season ticket holders on how to reserve their tickets, and 2019 Business Members who are eligible for a $1.00 discount on all ticket purchases.

Starring Tom Berenger, Charlie Sheen, and Corbin Bernsen, this sports comedy film grossed nearly $50 million dollars in its domestic release in 1989.  Mental Floss says, “Although there have been hundreds of baseball movies over the years, few have resonated so strongly with fans and players alike, or had such an impact on the game itself.”

Attendees to the film are encouraged to wear attire representing their favorite baseball team to add to the festive mood of the event.  Also, with the screening of this class movie taking place on a holiday weekend, Next Act hopes individuals visiting Dubois County from out-of-town will be able to enjoy the Theatre.

In addition to this movie screening, upcoming events at The Astra include comedian Costaki Economopoulos on April 12, musician Cris Jacobs on May 18, and Mary Poppins on June 1. Tickets and information on upcoming shows can be found at www.TheNextAct.org.

The historic Astra Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Jasper, Indiana. Newly renovated with 357 seats, the Astra has main level and balcony seating with a concessions stand offering snacks, local craft and domestic beer, and wine that are available for purchase.
