We’re really looking forward to hosting the Ferdinand Folk Festival’s singer-songwriter competition on Saturday, August 13. Thirteen local and regional contestants will take the historic Astra Theatre’s Jim and Pat Thyen Performance Stage, all vying for a chance to perform on the Next Era Energy Main Stage at the seventh annual Ferdinand Folk Festival on September 17.
It’s sure to be a great evening and will serve as a fundraiser for the Ferdinand Folk Festival AND our renovation fund for the theater. What could be better than that!
“We are excited to host the Ferdinand Folk Festival’s singer-songwriter competition and have as our guests supporters of the Folk Festival AND this very unique and friendly competition,” said our board chairperson, Leslie Hamby. “It is a part of our mission that our efforts benefit the county and region as a whole, and we certainly feel that partnering with the Folk Fest in this capacity is helping to advance that mission.”
