On Saturday, January 30 at 9:30 pm, Jamstorm and The Next Act are teaming up to put on a free concert that can be livestreamed into the comfort of your own home. Live music and performances are no doubt being missed, and this presents an opportunity to enjoy the next best thing.Jamstorm is a local band whose members have performed previously at the Astra in the Rock Lotto. Early in planning for the Astra we were approached to setup an endowment with the Dubois County Community Foundation. At the time we were still also trying to raise money to purchase the theatre. It seemed a bit backwards to start with the endowment but only two years after renovating and opening the Astra our doors were shut due to the pandemic. So many stages across our country have shut their doors for good. We are so lucky to have the safety that the yearly returns on an endowment bring. So this year in lieu of our normal fundraising campaign we're going to grow our endowment fund. We believe strongly this will help prepare the Astra for future sucess and also to continue to weather any unforseen event.
